With the advent of the Kindle and the iPad, ereading has become even more popular and convenient than it ever was before. It’s not surprising when it is so simple to select and purchase a book before beginning to reader it from wherever you may be at any given moment. For a reader, it’s a dream come true and so is tablet ereading.
Ereading on a Tablet
Tablet computers are multifunction devices, unlike dedicated ereaders, and so they offer ereading capability as one among a number of different computing options. Despite this, ereading by tablet has a number of advantages. To begin with, you are looking at a much bigger screen than the one on a Kindle or Sony ereader. This can make it that much easier to read. Along those lines, the iPad app, iBook offers some ten different font size options for your ebook reading pleasure. Tablet computers allow you to read in color and they also allow you to read using a much more sophisticated interface. Some of the iBook offerings even include animation and other surprise additions. Finally, there are numerous apps available to allow you to purchase and read books on your tablet. They offer a wide range of ebooks, purchasing options, and even allow you to read your books on other devices such as your smartphone.
Just One More Thing
The only thing that could improve the tablet reading experience is a device with eink capability. Eink technology allows a reader to experience words on a screen in much the same way as they would on a page. It works much better than an LED screen when you are reading in bright light, for example. Currently, this technology is really only available in dedicated reading devices and hybrids. There is some discussion of that changing in the near future however.
